1. Introduction
1.1 This Privacy Policy ("Policy") is issued by YieldWeek Ltd., a company incorporated in Singapore ("YieldWeek", "we", "us", or "our"). It explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal data submitted through the YieldWeek website (the "Website").
1.2 YieldWeek is committed to protecting personal data in accordance with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and any subsidiary legislation made thereunder, as amended from time to time.
1.3 By using the Website or submitting information through any inquiry form on the Website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy and consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal data as described herein. If you do not agree to this Policy, please do not use the Website or submit any personal data to us.
1.4 YieldWeek may update this Policy at any time by posting a revised version on the Website. The date of the most recent revision appears at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Website after any revision constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
2. About YieldWeek and our data footprint
2.1 YieldWeek is a calendar, editorial brand, and event discovery platform for the institutional yield industry. We are not an event producer, ticketing platform, registration system, or financial services provider.
2.2 YieldWeek does not maintain a persistent member database or registration platform. We do not store attendee lists, process payments, or handle ticket transactions. Our data footprint is therefore deliberately limited to: (a) information submitted through inquiry forms on the Website; and (b) information provided in connection with the YieldWeek editorial briefing on a consent basis.
2.3 We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.
3. Personal data we collect
3.1 We collect personal data only when you voluntarily provide it to us. The categories of personal data we may collect include:
- Identity data: first name, last name, job title, and name of organisation or institution.
- Contact data: work email address, telephone number (where provided), and organisation website.
- Professional data: professional role, area of focus, fund or institution type, and geographic coverage (where provided in an inquiry form).
- Inquiry data: the content of messages, event submissions, sponsorship inquiries, media partnership applications, city operator applications, or other information submitted through the Website's inquiry forms.
- Briefing data: email address and any preferences provided by individuals who have requested inclusion in the YieldWeek editorial briefing.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, pages visited, time and date of visit, and referring URL, collected automatically when you visit the Website.
3.2 We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data (such as information relating to racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, health, or financial account details) through the Website. Please do not submit such information through our inquiry forms.
3.3 Where an inquiry form is submitted on behalf of an organisation, the individual submitting the form represents and warrants that they are authorised to provide the personal data of any individuals identified in the submission and that doing so complies with applicable data protection law.
4. How we collect personal data
4.1 Inquiry forms. The Website uses inquiry forms for sponsorship, event listing, media partnership, city operator, allocator, and general contact submissions. Form data is transmitted to us via Web3Forms, a third-party form processing service. Web3Forms forwards submitted data to our email address and does not retain form data on its servers beyond the transmission. Please refer to Web3Forms' own privacy policy for information on their data handling practices.
4.2 Editorial briefing. Individuals who request inclusion in the YieldWeek editorial briefing provide their email address and, optionally, professional details on a consent basis. Briefing subscriptions are managed by YieldWeek directly.
4.3 Automatic collection. When you visit the Website, certain technical data is collected automatically through standard web server logs and, where applicable, analytics tools. This data is used solely to understand how the Website is used and to improve its performance and content. We do not use this data to identify individual users unless required to do so for security or legal compliance purposes.
4.4 Cookies. The Website may use cookies and similar technologies as described in Section 8 below.
5. How we use personal data
5.1 YieldWeek uses personal data only for the purposes for which it was collected, or for purposes that are consistent with those purposes and permitted under applicable law. These purposes include:
- Reviewing, evaluating, and responding to inquiries submitted through the Website's inquiry forms;
- Assessing applications for sponsorship, event listing, media partnership, city operator arrangements, or allocator access;
- Distributing the YieldWeek editorial briefing to individuals who have consented to receive it;
- Communicating with sponsors, partners, event organisers, and media contacts in connection with an active commercial or editorial relationship;
- Improving the content, functionality, and user experience of the Website;
- Complying with applicable legal or regulatory obligations; and
- Protecting the integrity and security of the Website and YieldWeek's operations.
5.2 We do not use personal data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.
5.3 We do not use personal data submitted through inquiry forms to send unsolicited marketing communications. Where we send editorial briefings or other communications, these are either (a) sent on the basis of your prior consent, or (b) sent to existing contacts where we have a legitimate professional basis for doing so and in compliance with applicable law.
6. Disclosure of personal data
6.1 YieldWeek does not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We may disclose personal data to third parties only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: We may engage third-party service providers (including email delivery services, web hosting providers, analytics providers, and form processing services) who process personal data on our behalf and under our instruction. Such providers are required to handle data in a manner consistent with this Policy and applicable law.
- Event organisers and partners: Where you have submitted an inquiry or application in connection with a specific event or partnership, we may share relevant information with the relevant event organiser, sponsor, or partner for the purpose of processing your inquiry. We will only do so where it is necessary for the purpose of your submission and, where practicable, will notify you in advance.
- Legal compliance: We may disclose personal data where required to do so by law, court order, regulatory authority, or government agency, or where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of YieldWeek, its users, or the public.
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, personal data held by YieldWeek may be transferred to the relevant successor entity, subject to equivalent data protection obligations.
6.2 Where personal data is disclosed to third parties outside Singapore, YieldWeek takes reasonable steps to ensure that the recipient provides a standard of protection for that personal data that is comparable to the protection under the PDPA.
7. Retention of personal data
7.1 YieldWeek retains personal data only for as long as is reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, to comply with legal or regulatory obligations, and to resolve any disputes or enforce our agreements.
7.2 Inquiry form submissions are retained for a period sufficient to evaluate and respond to the submission and, where applicable, to manage any resulting commercial or editorial relationship. Submissions that do not result in an active relationship are deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period after a final decision is made.
7.3 Briefing subscription data is retained for as long as an individual remains subscribed. Upon withdrawal of consent, email addresses are removed from active distribution lists promptly. Residual copies in backup systems are deleted in the ordinary course of our data management practices.
7.4 Technical data collected through server logs and analytics is retained for a period of up to twelve (12) months, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
8.1 The Website may use cookies — small data files stored on your browser or device — to facilitate your use of the Website and to understand how it is used. Cookies may be session-based (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent (retained for a defined period).
8.2 YieldWeek may use the following categories of cookies:
- Strictly necessary cookies: Required for the Website to function. These cannot be disabled without affecting Website functionality.
- Analytics cookies: Used to understand how visitors interact with the Website (e.g., pages visited, time spent, traffic sources). Data is aggregated and does not identify individual users.
8.3 YieldWeek does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies for cross-site behavioural advertising purposes.
8.4 Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain functionality of the Website. For more information on managing cookies, refer to your browser's help documentation or visit www.allaboutcookies.org.
9. Security
9.1 YieldWeek takes reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or destruction. These measures include restricted access to personal data within our organisation on a need-to-know basis and the use of reputable third-party service providers with appropriate security standards.
9.2 No method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is completely secure. While we take reasonable precautions, YieldWeek cannot guarantee the absolute security of personal data transmitted to or stored by us, and we cannot accept liability for data breaches resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
9.3 If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, or that you have become aware of a potential data security issue, please contact us immediately at info@yieldweek.org.
10. Your rights
10.1 Subject to applicable law and any exemptions provided under the PDPA, you have the following rights in relation to personal data we hold about you:
- Access: You may request access to personal data we hold about you and information about how we have used or disclosed that data.
- Correction: You may request that we correct personal data that is inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading.
- Withdrawal of consent: Where you have provided consent for us to use your personal data, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal. Please note that withdrawing consent may affect our ability to provide services or respond to your inquiry.
- Deletion: You may request that we delete personal data we hold about you, subject to our legal and contractual obligations to retain certain data.
10.2 To exercise any of the above rights, please contact us in writing at info@yieldweek.org. We will endeavour to respond to your request within thirty (30) days. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.
10.3 If you are dissatisfied with our response to a data-related request, you may have the right to lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) of Singapore at www.pdpc.gov.sg.
11. Editorial briefing and communications
11.1 YieldWeek distributes an editorial briefing to professional and institutional audiences on a consent basis. Individuals who have requested inclusion in the briefing may withdraw their consent at any time by sending a written request to info@yieldweek.org or by following the unsubscribe instructions contained in any briefing communication. Unsubscribe requests will be processed promptly and within a reasonable timeframe.
11.2 The briefing is editorial in nature. It does not constitute investment advice, a financial promotion, or a regulated communication. Inclusion in the briefing distribution list does not imply any commercial relationship with YieldWeek beyond receipt of editorial content.
12. Third-party websites and services
12.1 The Website may contain links to third-party websites, event pages, and external resources. This Policy applies only to the YieldWeek Website and does not extend to any third-party website. YieldWeek has no control over and accepts no responsibility for the privacy practices or content of any linked third-party website.
12.2 We strongly encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party websites you visit via links on the Website, including the websites of event organisers, sponsors, and media partners referenced on the platform.
13. Children
13.1 The Website is intended solely for professional and institutional audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a minor, please contact us at info@yieldweek.org and we will take prompt steps to delete such data.
